PB in Action: Shetland

Lerwick Community Council is organising and hosting a participatory budgeting event, 'Loot for Lerwick' on 21st May 2016.
The Community Council has secured match funding from the Scottish Government for the event and, by combining its Community Development Grant from the Shetland Islands Council, from both last year and this, a total participatory budgeting fund of £10,000 is being made available for Lerwick based groups.
Any Group and/or Organisation based in Lerwick or any Project that will directly benefit Lerwick can bid for funds. Groups have until midnight on Friday 22nd April to make a submission, which can attract funding of up to £2,000. The winning entries will be put to a public vote on Saturday 21st May at the Islesburgh Community Complex 10am – 1pm. All applicants and members of the local community will be welcomed along, to vote on how and where this money is spent.
