How the French do Participatory Budgeting!

A delegation from Fife and Glasgow, with the support of What Works Scotland, had the unique opportunity to visit Paris in December 2016 to learn about how Participatory Budgeting is being delivered at their scale.

A documentary film exploring how community planning partners from two What Works Scotland case sites - Fife and Glasgow - learnt about implementing participatory budgeting (PB) on a study trip to Paris, a European leader in mainstreaming PB. One of the goals of What Works Scotland is to understand how public services in Scotland can learn from international evidence.

For Fife, the visit provided a catalyst for them to reflect on where they are with Participatory Budgeting and how to go forward with PB in Fife.

The representations from Fife and Glasgow share their perspective on their visit to Paris. Click here to find out more about the learning from the Paris visit.
