As part of SCDC’s Green PB programme for 2022 an Action group has now been set-up and held its first meeting in March 2022. The Green PB Action Group has been formed and the main aim agreed as:

“To contribute to and oversee positive ongoing development and adoption of Green PB activities and processes across Scotland in 2022”.

To achieve the aim, the group have adopted the following responsibilities:

Identify appropriate opportunities where Green PB can be integrated into existing mechanisms/activities underway across Scotland and advise on any appropriate partnership/collaboration opportunities for furthering the Green PB agenda. Support a realistic and achievable Green PB annual delivery plan for 2022 that reflects key elements of the overall programme.

Promote Green PB activity and encourage shared learning and good practice across all sectors.

Support ongoing Green PB activity and provide advice and guidance, where necessary, on a Just Transition to Net Zero

Membership of the group is varied and wide and includes representatives from Scottish Government, COSLA, Youth Organisations, Environmental Organisations, Health and Social Care and Local Authorities.

Member commitments for the group are identified as:

Attendance at Quarterly Meetings (Virtual in the first instance)
Co-production of annual plans, reports, and information & monitoring documents.
Promotion of appropriate press releases/information in respective networks and organisations etc.
