PB in schools - a "no brainer"

As many PB Scotland visitors will know, PB is being used internationally as a way for people to have a direct say over how public money is spent. This video from Participatory Budgeting Project (PBP) in the USA shows the experience of PB in 5 schools in Phoenix, Arizona.

This video introduces you to participatory budgeting in schools by showing you how it worked in Phoenix. Featuring interviews with students, teachers, principals, local elected officials, and the superintendent -- see how PB can be a tool for learing democracy while building stronger schools.

See PB Scotland's own report on how PB was used by One Parent Families Scotland and Ardenglen Housing Association to bring together pupils and parents from two schools in Castlemilk, Glasgow to decide how each school should spend £10,000 to help lower the cost of the school day.
