Watch: What’s next for PB in Scotland?

Colleagues from across the PB Scotland network came together online to help shape the journey ahead.

At the start of February COSLA reaffirmed their commitment to the target of 1% of Local Authority funds (minus local taxes raised) to be spent by 2021/22 via PB.

Whilst the pandemic has prevented face to face PB from happening, many processes have continued online. At the same time, work has been going on behind the scenes to prepare for restrictions being lifted and a gradual move towards the re-engagement of citizens in democratic life - in communities, in schools and in groups involved in funding programmes led by foundations and charitable trusts.

In September 2020 the National PB Strategic Group was formed to consider the role of PB in the Covid-19 recovery phase, how PB fits within broader reform of democracy and community empowerment, and what should happen next.

This event brought together practitioners, policy makers and members of the Strategic Group to hear about discussions so far and, more importantly, to contribute their ideas about what should happen now to embed PB as part of the way we do democracy in Scotland.
