Future Priorities for PB in Scotland
The National Participatory Budgeting Strategic Group has published a framework for the future of participatory budgeting (PB) in Scotland. The framework sets out shared intentions and ambitions for PB and, looking ahead, outlines a series of priority recommendations to be carried forward.
This strategic framework is a key document that underlines how we can evolve PB into a central way for decisions to be made in Scotland.
The Strategic Group recommend that the links between the National Performance Framework, community empowerment and PB are made much more explicit.
We recommend that PB is constantly tested against a broader ambition of ensuring that our democracy is addressing and constantly responding to the exclusion of marginalised groups right across representative and participatory democracy.
The Strategic Group recommends the development of a continuous learning culture which includes evaluation, shared practice and systematic learning.
