Watch: Burnfoot Bid Together

A community voting event took in the community of Burnfoot in Hawick in the Scottish Borders on Sunday 19 March 2017, with successful community groups getting a share of a £30,000 fund.

The event took place at Burnfoot Community School in Hawick, and it all comes as part of a new community budgeting strategy, where residents, and the people who are most likely to use the funded services, decide where the money would be best spent.

A total of 26 groups took part in the event, with 13 of them getting a share of the £30,000 fund, with bids ranging from £500 to £3000 each.
